Since offering a practical and hands-on education is at the heart of everything we do at Baywater, we produce dozens of success stories every year. Our students go on to work and lead at some of the leading financial services firms across Australia and around the world.
Gordon Chen is a senior academic who has over 30 years experience working and teaching in the financial services industry. Graduating from UNSW in the early 1990s, Gordon worked at some of the largest technology and financial services corporations in the world (such as EY, IBM and Telstra) in his junior years.
In the early 2000's, he founded BNG Consultancy, a financial services firm that specialises in Australian businesses. In conjunction to this, Gordon pursued his lifelong passion for teaching. Over the next 20 years, he held various lecturing positions at Australia's most famous institutions such as Macquarie University, UTS Sydney, RMIT, the University of Ballarat, and TAFE NSW. it was also during this time that he also acquired a total of seven tertiary degrees, including a Masters in Commerce from UNSW, and an MBA from the University of Newcastle.
Now, having left the academic world to found his own educational institution, he spends his time imparting his decades of wisdom and experience to his students and empowering the next generation of leaders in the financial services world.
We believe the current education system does not prepare today's youth for the changes of tomorrow. Getting a university degree is no longer enough and in order to be deemed competitive, students have to go above and beyond in order to secure their place at leading firms.
At Baywater Institute, we are on a mission to turn this on its head by offering some of Australia's most effective Accounting programs. In our classes, we combine practical experience with the latest Accounting theory so students can graduate at the top of their graduate cohort in terms of employability.

I learnt so much during my time at Baywater. I became experienced in using accounting software such as MYOB, bookkeeping practices, and preparing and finalising financial statements and tax returns for individuals, trusts and companies.
While studying "Business Activity and Instalment Activity Statement", I interned part time at BNG - where I developed most of my practical accounting skills. I now work at State Street in their Hangzhou office specialising in the Australian market.
The course provided by Baywater uses practical examples and detailed explanations to help me quickly understand the content of the course and solve the corresponding problems in my work in a short period of time.
